Overview

Capri, Sorrento and Pompeii are three great names of Italy’s Mediterranean coast, and this private shore excursion covers all of them in a day. Your local guide meets you either at Molo Beverello, the port of Naples, or directly as you leave your cruise ship.

The fast ferry takes you to Capri first. On the island, the Blue Grotto can be reached either via the dramatic, steep Mamma Mia road or aboard a shared boat, and if sea and weather conditions are favorable you will see the dazzling, bright blue water glowing inside the cave. Should the grotto be inaccessible, a shared boat tour around the island takes its place.

Sorrento is next on the itinerary. This is your chance to slow down, browse along the main street and sit down for lunch. Later, a driver collects you for the transfer to Pompeii, where your guide leads you through the remarkably intact remains of the ancient Roman city, a visit that rarely fails to astonish. If archaeology excites you most, our Pompeii and Vesuvius day tour pairs the excavations with a climb up the volcano, while the Pompeii ruins and Vesuvius horseback ride adds a touch of adventure.

Your driver then returns you to Naples to end the day.
